What Lessons Are Being Learned By The Instant Gratification Generation Now That The Country is in a Recession

By Connor Sullivan

In the 80's and 90's, Americans spent money in a very carefree way which has led to an instant gratification generation today . This particular generation has also been living beyond their means and are now having to learn how to be better with their money with the current bad economy and recession. One of the things they are learning is how to take care of their things and take care of them and having electronics or appliances in their home repaired rather than buying new ones when they are broken . For example, if you are having computer trouble, find a service that may do macbook repair or macbook screen repair instead of buying a new computer.

With so much technology and electronics being used on a daily basis by Americans, it is important to understand what you can do to maintain these things in addition to where to go if the item breaks or is not working right. With personal computers, I-pods, I-phones and other cell phones, the amount of things that can go wrong is very high. The more advanced the technology is, the greater the incidence of something going wrong is. Because all of these personal items are expensive to begin with, you should take care of them and find a reputable dealer than may repair it if it breaks. With the economy in such bad shape, people are realizing that they can not afford to buy whatever they want anymore and being frugal and wise are currently en vogue.

Other things to consider maintaining and fixing are the appliances that are in your house. If your dishwasher goes kaput, look into having it fixed instead of just tossing it away and buying a new one, like so many people used to do. Other appliances that homeowners should maintain to keep them working better and longer are the furnace and air conditioning for your heating and cooling needs. Keeping it clean and repaired will save you a considerable amount of money in the long run .

This lesson of taking care of your property and keeping them for a long time seems like such a simple one but it is something that has fallen along the way on the younger generations. This instant gratification generation is now learning the lessons from the older generation on ways to save their money and be smart with their purchases. The struggling of our economy has forced many frivolous spenders to take a look on how they need to change their spending habits and be smart for the future.

With this generation being so used to buying anything they want with a credit card, this recession has been a great thing to help them to realize that is not the best way to live. Now it is thought to be cool to save money and to be smart about what you buy . People are now downsizing realizing that that huge home is much more than what they need and the older computer that they have works just fine after it is updated.
