As a small agency with a mission to protect consumers' wide, is one of our most difficult tasks just to get the word out to consumers that we can help. Increasingly, we turned to social media tools to help spread the word.
In summer 2009, we launched this blog, which is thousands of visitors per month. Shortly after, we created a Twitter account, which we believe is now the second largest nationally among departments of the State Insurance. From what we can say that blogs tend to attract consumers Googling around for information. Our Twitter Followers tend to be people in the industry: agents, brokers and insurers.
Now, we launched a Facebook page agency. We are a state agency for the first time in Washington to do so (This is the list created by the good people of access.wa.gov), but surprisingly few services are safe to use this tool. Let's see how it goes.
